One of our favourite and most memorable routes is when we cycle past an amazing 7.5 hectare of bamboo forest. The forest is located in Kubu Village, Bangli regency, about 30 kms north east from Ubud. While riding, you will also have opportunities to see traditional craftsmen at work inside the forest or watch local people cutting down the bamboo for various purposes.

This route is ‘exclusive’ to us and NOT offered by any other company. View our tour itinerary in bamboo forest. You can also view our photos collection of riding through bamboo forest.

By visiting these two famous sites, you can learn and discover more about Balinese culture. Note that we will go inside the temple (not just peeking from the outside). All entrance fees, tickets and sarong have been covered in the price.

You will also be taken to visit some other village temples which we pass along the route and discover another facts about local spiritual beliefs and practices.

What they said...

“The best bike tour in Bali”

Bali Hai Bike tour is one of it's own. Beside the friendly and awesome staffs they have, Kadek.

The tour itself is different from others. We managed to experience cycling around the bamboo forest and pass through villages and have a chance to see how the people do everyday for their living.

I will surely come back to Bali and will for sure join the bike tour again. Will totally recommend friends who will be going to Bali to experience this... more »

“One of the best days of my life..”

Honestly! Our day with Bali Hai Bike Tours was one of the best days of my life.

Just my daughter and me - riding through fascinating village life, impossibly picturesque lush Bali countryside, the air soft and warm, the bike riding easy; practicing Bahasa Indonesia with every person we met- all so friendly and happy; waving and shouting out hello to children and adults as we passed - it was almost magical. We were treated like royalty all day! ... more »

“Incredible experience”

What a great, authentic, valuable and fun experience. I cannot express my enthusiasm enough about our tour with Bali Hai Bike Tour. I have two small children and they looked after us in a very professional manner. We were kept safe from the traffic and was shown an insight into the real Bali. It was the highlight of our stay in Bali.

“Awesome Bali Adventure”

This was one of the best days we have had. We organised a private tour with Bali Hai so we could go at our own pace as we had young children.

They were very accommodating and helpful. Riding around the villages and rice paddies was extremely enjoyable and we loved stopping and talking with local villagers. My children, ages 11 and 8 thoroughly enjoyed the day, even though they were hesitant at first. Riding through the Bamboo forest was amazing... more »

“Best Adventure Ever!”

This is 6/5 Stars. I'd add another one if I could. This was the greatest adventure of my life. I seriously cannot express how memorable and incredibly life-changing and eye opening this bike tour was. They have the tour down to a science: and truly put the customers first. The tour was supposed to end at 3pm, but my friends and I wanted to see everything. They never rushed us, and took us around to many places that I will never forget ... more »

“Fantastic Day Out”

My wife and I had an amazing day out with Bali Hai Bike Tours. Collection from our hotel was prompt and the driver was friendly and helpful. The team that took us down the hill were all very good. They spoke good english, talked about what we saw on the route and were very professional in terms of safety. When crossing roads for example, they would both take one side each to check for traffic and then allow us to cross.

The food at the end of the trip was probably the best we ate in Bali. Set in amongst the rice terraces, no other tourists or traffic in sight. Brilliant. We saw lots throughout the day too, rice terraces, coffee plantation, temples, more temples, bamboo forests, views of the volcano etc. We had a very limited time in Bali and are very glad that we did this day trip as it felt like we got a very good overview of Bali from the one day.

“Highlight of the trip”

This was the best activity I did on my trip to Bali. The guides were excellent and we felt really safe with them. They were always looking out for us and stopping traffic to let us cross roads if they were busy! We started with an amazing breakfast overlooking the volcano and lake. Followed by a trip to a coffee plantation which was really interesting.

This was followed by the 2hr bike ride through villages and temples which was just stunning. The riding is fairly active for someone like me who doesn't cycle at home and had a cracked rib (!) but certainly manageable and worth the effort! It's also mostly downhill so you can get away with coasting for a lot of it. We finished off with a fantastic walk through the paddy fields where we stopped to help the local ladies beating the rice. And then lunch at another beautiful location in the paddy fields with excellent food...

“Safety Conscious”

Although this tour is a bit more expensive than some of the others I was really impressed with the care taken in regard to the safety of the riders.

There were two guides, one in the front and one in the back, at all times.

The driver went ahead and at any more major road crossing there were TWO employees of the company holding the traffic so it was safe to cross the road.

How impressive is that!

I was by far the oldest bike rider on the trip, I am 57, and although I am quite fit I am not a regular bike rider, but I felt well catered for and looked after.

Thank you for a magic day!

“Great way to see the real Bali”

We would have missed out on a traditional village, rice paddies without this tour. Our numerous guides were very friendly (we had trouble understanding them at times) and always kept safety in mind when crossing intersections. The scenery was spectacular.

It was a bit of a challenge for the driver to find our villa in Seminyak and be aware that the drive to the start of the tour takes about an hour and a half.

The food we were served was delicious. Breakfast was served at a restaurant with a view of the mountain. I personally didn't think that part of the tour was very interesting but I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the day.

I particularly liked the balinese buffet at the end of the tour with the view of the rice paddies.

Overall this tour was well worth the price and I would recommend it.

“A highly recommended bike tour in Bali”

The first adventure we had in Bali was a bicycle tour through the countryside. It had great reviews on TripAdvisor so we were excited to go. What we didn't know is that we would be the only guests! It was the two of us, our guide and two other men (who I'm pretty sure were there to make sure I stayed safe- they must have had bad luck with women riders in the past). In addition to that, there was a van, with two other men, that followed us around. In summary, we were treated like royalty.

The bike tour started at the top of small mountain that overlooks Batur volcano and a nearby lake. There we had breakfast which consisted of fried bananas, noodles and eggs. The view was incredible and it was amazing to watch the fog roll in and out of the valley.

After breakfast, we drove a little further to the starting point of our bike...

“The best way to enjoy the Bali countryside!”

This is an excellent way to spend a day with three young kids in the Bali country side. Having now done this once, we will do it every time we go to Bali. Well worth the money, the time, the experience. By the end, everyone happy, everyone satisfied, everyone tired.

Family of 5 - mum and dad, oldest boy (8 years), second boy(7 years) and youngest (3 years). A tough audience to satisfy for an entire day.

We booked our day tour with Kadek and the team on line late on a Sunday night (9pm), requesting our trip on Tuesday (just over one day later). Kadek was very responsive, replying on the same Sunday night, emailing back and forth several times to confirm our requirements, timing, pickup, price etc.. By 10pm, we were all confirmed. The paypal payment option made it very convenient.

We bought a full day private tour. The day started with an 8am pickup from our hotel lobby...

“Brilliant day out through the countryside!”

What a way to introduce yourself to Bali. :)

I booked the Bali Hai tour for my family and it was a fantastic activity for us. I thought we would have one guide but we had four or five. The guides answered questions, made us laugh, ensured a safe passage across intersections etc... and helped whenever we needed it.

The tour covers a lot of ground but it is downhill so relatively easy. The scenery ranges from rural rice paddies, small villages, larger towns, rainforest gullies with waterfalls and rivers, bamboo forests, jungle villages, 1000-year-old temples, it is truly wonderful. Relaxing as well as interesting.

My boys are aged 9 and 11 and they had no trouble completing the bike tour. If you do tire out there is a back-up car that follows, in case anyone wants to opt out of the bike ride for a while. They provide two meals on the tour...

“Great Value and Amazing Scenery”

THIS TRIP IS A MUST-DO FOR BALI!!

Before heading to Bali I researched and found that must of the famous beaches in Bali (Kuta/Seminyak) were not that nice compared to other beaches I had been to, so I really wanted to do something different that was really unique in Bali-and luckily this bike tour was exactly what I was looking for. You get to see what feels like the whole center of the island, including epic volcanos, stunning temples and beautiful bamboo forests, all while on bike. Biking past rice terraces in rural Bali while looking to the left and seeing little Bali villages and ancient temples on my right has to be one of the coolest things I have ever done, and I highly recommend anybody visiting (even if you aren't the most physically fit-most of the tour is downhill) to try this out to see the 'real' and non-touristy Bali...
